So today I went to walmart and picked up one of the new vortex blasters. I got the Vigilon that's the one that is the five shot pistol. it really is a six shot because after you cock the gun you can open up the mag and put another disc in. I wouldn't recomend 7 darts as it gets jammed easily. I will have a video up as soon as I get around to it. It might take awhile because its been raining like crazy and the ground is mush so once everything drys up I'll do some range test. some friends of mine also go the praxis so I'll review that to. I feel that the praxis and vigilon are the 2 most practical of the vortex blasters. Just one more thing why have a set release date and not follow it. I know the guns will be released officially Saturday, but I found them at walmart at it wasn't like it was hidden in some back corner and it was accidentally placed there. there was a giant display with posters and stuff.
well any ways
peace out and happy nerfing,

Humans VS Zombies how to guide
this is a how to guide for playing short games of humans vs zombies they will last any where from 15 minutes to an hour or 2.
there are many different ways to play HvZ but I am just going to give an overview of how to play.
1. Get alot of people a good starting number is around 10 to 15 people.
2 find a place to play parks are great but check to make if its ok certain townships frown on this sort of thing especially at night. A good place to play will have lots of places to hide and will be fairly large. I recommend that you do this on private property so that the police can't take action against you. make sure that you set the boundaries and that everyone who is playing knows where they are
3. types of gameplay. there are 2 major ways to play hvz. you can play out break there will be roughly 3 starting zombies or OZ(original Zombies) depending on how many people if there are a lot of people have more OZ's this game has a 15 minute time limit humans win if they can last that long zombies win by infecting all of the humans. basic rules zombies are stunned by socks darts and now discs for 30 seconds.the zombie will just stay where they are and count to 30 seconds. no being a d-bag and spawn camping the zombies and shooting them every 30 seconds. this is the basic rules for outbreak and is pretty simple but a ton of fun.
now lets go on to mission based game types. there are all sorts of missions that you can do. I'll start with a few of the things that are different than outbreak. first when the zombies are stunned they return to a base and wait to respawn 30 seconds to a minute. also everyone will have to have bandanas zombies wear them around thier head while humans wear them around their arm. this will allow for the distintion between humans and zombies.
missions there all sorts of missions that you could do here are just a few examples.
unlock the weapons depot
hold a predetermined specific location that will hold larger weapons and magizines
starting humans will only be allowed to have small weapons like mavericks and nitefinders. I allow the use of clips but only 6 round clips. after the given time about 10 minutes the humans can get the weapons in the weapons depot. this is a good starting mission.
secure the cure
hey that rhymes lol. this mission will break the humans into 3 groups as they try to hold an area that the cure is in this is similar to the first mission but is more difficult because it seperates the group
fortify the base
this mission is not based on time but rather objective based. have around five chairs or something similar around where you are playing humans then have to retrieve them in order to fortify thier base. this mission can either be really easy or a real pain in the ass depending on how good the zombies are and the humans you are working with.
this is just a quick brief of the many missions that you could do if you have any questions please ask me i will be more than happy to help.
peace out and happy zombie hunting,

new colors for vortex series???
so i was doing a little ranting of the nerf facebook and I think I found out some pretty neat stuff. look at what nerf says they're essential giving away the fact that new color schemes are in the works. i think it's a good thing. let me know what you think and sorry for the crappy plain text.
nerf i love the new vortex series. the fact that you actually listened to the consumers and came up with a blaster with pretty impressive ranges is great. I just don't like the color scheme I feel you could have done better. I get that you're going for n-strike vs vortex and vortex is supposed to be aliens that shouldn't be an excuse though. I feel you should have had a contest with 3 different color schemes and have us vote on it or something similar. really how hard is it to change the color from green to red, yellow or blue. ps I think red would look really good on these blasters

Diego De Jesus likes this.
Cameron Purdie Or maybe they can just release them in whatever color they want, everybody will buy them anyway, and then they'll release them in like three different colors, all of which everyone will STILL buy.
Also, the Vortex colors are awesome.

Nerf Hey Adam, thanks for the feedback. Glad you're loving the Vortex line and we hear your thoughts on blaster color schemes. No red blasters in the works as of now, but we do like to change things up when we get the chance and hope you stay with us into 2012 and beyond so you can see what colors we'll be taking on in the future. Should have more official details to release in the spring. Thanks!

RANT color schemes
ok so everybody's all excited about the new vortex blasters but i gotta ask you one thing how many of you are thrilled about the color scheme of these things. in my opinion which is just my opinion these things are horrible looking. I really think nerf should do a competition or something to decide what color to make there blasters or at the very least have us vote on the color we like best. that way we don't get blasters that look like there out of the 80's. let me know what you think about this and ideas you might have
